Steven Silver, the founder and principal of Silver Bridges Translations Int’l (SBTI), has been a professional translator for more than three decades. He has translated and interpreted for many of the Pacific Rim’s leading businesses and law firms as well as numerous government agencies and non-profit organizations.
Silver provides written translation services in a broad array of languages including Japanese, Chinese, Korean, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and German. He has translation experience in an equally broad range of industries and disciplines ranging from law, real estate, construction, finance and taxation to hospitality, manufacturing and medical/pharmaceutical. He is also a published translator (fiction and non-fiction).
Throughout his career, Silver has provided oral interpreting services for Fortune 500 CEO’s, elected officials, and business and cultural leaders around the world. He is comfortable in every major interpreting setting from boardrooms and courtrooms to television studios and university lecture halls.
Silver is nationally certified by the American Translators Association (Japanese-to-English, French-to-English, Spanish-to-English) and registered with the United States District Court for the District of Hawaii to provide interpreting services in Japanese. He has successfully passed Level 1 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test and is certified by the Judiciary of the State of Hawaii to provide court interpreting services in Japanese (Tier II) and Spanish (Tier IV).
Silver is also a former tax accountant and IRS Enrolled Agent. He holds a Master’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Hawai'i and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from Princeton University. He resides in Honolulu with his wife and children.
